This self-review
assignment was a little easier for me than the first one we had to complete. I
knew what to expect and when writing my paper I made sure to look for those
specific items and include them. These reviews are very useful because it
really makes you think about what you are writing while you are writing and not
just after it is done. I know we are all learning no matter our experience level,
but it’s nice to give yourself a review and have improved since you last
writing assignment.
When
working on my review I realized I needed to have a few more transitional words
in my paper. I felt that my overall organization was good, but those
transitional words would help it flow a little better. I also thought I did
really well when supporting my points in this paper. Another improvement would
have been doing outside research on the paper I was analyzing. This would have
helped me better understand exactly what the writer was talking about in the
beginning. My title is a little boring and this is something I hope to keep
improving throughout this class. Overall I think adding those transitional
words would improve the quality of my paper and make it easier and more interesting
to read.
I as well found it easier to utilize the self review this time around. I think the same as you, I viewed my work with a different mentality than before. I think with this course as you have stated we are continuing to grow and mature as writers and for me personally I see myself looking at writing differently than before.
ReplyDeleteNatasha, I'm really glad you have observed some improvement! Keep working hard and you'll see continuous improvement. If you haven't already, you might try to find a list of common transition words (your book may have one, actually).
